As a camper at Lake Okoboji Dance Camp, you are our special guest. Our goal is to provide top-notch guidance and instruction in a positive and nurturing environment. Count on individualized care in all aspects of teaching, activities, and camp life. You will love the structured dance environment and have the chance to make new friends and meet instructors during your time as a camper. 

The host resort of Lake Okoboji Dance Camp is the beautiful “Camp Foster YMCA” located on the lakefront of Okoboji East (Near Spirit Lake, Iowa). Driving distance is approximately 1.5 hours from Mankato, 3 hours from Minneapolis and 3 hours from Des Moines.

Camp fees are $495 which includes all food, lodging and activities. A $200 deposit will hold your spot!

Camp DOES fill fast and is subject to first come, first serve. Payment in full is due by May 1.

Girl and boys ages 7—17 are welcomed to attend.  Our camp provides instruction for all levels. Individual dancers are encouraged to attend and meet new friends while at camp. Teams and groups are also welcome.


Safety is the highest priority at Lake Okoboji Dance Camp!  Although our staff takes great measures to ensure a safe dancing environment, there is always risk of injury.  The risk of injury includes muscle soreness, bruises and other minor injuries. More serious injuries include broken bones and muscle pulls.  If such injuries occur, “Camp Foster-YMCA” has a full time staff all trained in first aid, CPR and Lifeguard training.  


The camp director for Lake Okoboji Dance Camp is Mitzi Roberts (Owner/Director:Dance Express & Impact Dance Competition).
A carefully selected group of young adults comprise our staff of professional educators, coaches andi nstructors.
Our outstanding staff at Lake Okoboji Dance Camp offers you a complete week of dance and team building experiences.
Our camp counselors provide 24 hour supervision with a

1 to 5 ratio.
(1 to 6 older campers)

MEALS AT CAMP

 Camp Foster’s dining hall provides three nutritious meals per day.  All meals are included in the camp fee.  The camp foster kitchen staff is fully equipped to handle all kinds of food allergy requests.   Please note these allergies on your camp registration form and again at camp check in.  Note:  If your child has special dietary needs, feel free to send these items with your child and they will be stored safely in the camp kitchen/refrigerator/freezer.  



Recreation is provided for all Lake Okoboji Campers and is included in their camp fee.  Any camper can choose from a variety of activities to fill each day with fun and adventure. Bring a friend and go swimming, slide down the water slide, go horseback riding or canoeing.  With the certified trained staff, accept the challenges of the high ropes obstacle course or master the bouldering and climbing walls.  All programs are supervised and structured to offer safety and encouragement to every camper.



LODC is help at the beautiful Camp Foster (1769 260th Ave, Spirit Lake, IA 51360) Driving distance is approximately 1.5 hours from Mankato, 3 hours from Minneapolis and 3 hours from Des Moines.  A camp bus will depart from Mankato at the start of camp (11:00 am) and pick up at the end of camp (12:00 pm) for an additional fee.  This can be selected during your registration process, or added at any time by calling 507-625-3865 or emailing LakeOkobojiDanceCamp@gmail.com
